First and second students of Maintenance of Thermal and Fluid Installations together with second year students of Electrical and Automatic Installations visit the "Casanova de Sant Miquel" Hostel in Aiguafreda, known for its commitment to sustainability .
A unique experience in an exceptional natural environment. The Hostel became a living classroom for our students, who saw first hand how energy and sustainability are compatible. The installation has treatment of water entering the hostel, treatment of gray and black water through natural filters, photovoltaic system of network isolation, diesel electric generator for support, biomass boiler, etc.
In addition to the technical visit, Walter, the owner of the estate, guided us around the natural park comparing with photographs from hundreds of years ago, what life was like in the park, the vineyard area and the recently restored Hermitage of Sant Miquel de Canyelles. We were also able to visit the part of the via ferrata that came down in 2007.
An ideal environment for a meaningful and at the same time playful educational experience where students were able to strengthen group cohesion.
